Will I notice any changes to my bowel motions (bloating, constipation etc)?

You may notice that your stools are looser or fuller for a few days at the start of your GoFigure plan. You may also have a little wind/flatulence which can be awkward and embarrassing. This is perfectly normal as your body adjusts to the increased fibre intake, the pre and probiotics (live bacteria which have a positive impact on your gut bactreia or microbiome) and the fat burning MCT oils. Simply have an extra glass of water or herbal tea after each shake and bar. The discomfort will pass as the bowel adjusts to the new and healthier fibre intake. We also advise that you drink the shakes slowly, mixing them with saliva, and perhaps reduce the amount of powder you use for a few days.

Do you recommend consulting my GP before starting the programme?

It is good to ensure your health is being monitored by a health professional before starting any diet or weight loss programme.

How does the GoFigure plan work?

Our meal replacements work by restricting your daily calorie intake with easy-to-use 200 calorie meal sachets. The snack bars keep you feeling full between meals and stop you from snacking on poor food choices.

Also, our nutritionist Max Tomlinson devised the 2:2:GO, the plan to help you get the most out of our products. It is our call to action, the blueprint for your weight loss success. It is easy to use and scientifically proven to work. Simply replace 2 meals a day with our really healthy GoFigure shakes, enjoy 2 energy boosting GoFigure natural snack bars and to do some fun daily exercise 

How should I prepare my GoFigure shake?

For best results use a shaker.  Shake vigorously for 15 seconds and drink immediately with an extra glass of water or herbal tea. If you want to dilute the shake simply add up to 350ml of water. For best results drink immediately. You can also use a blender or a NutriBullet.

How much water do I add?

We suggest adding between 250ml and 350ml of water. The shakes are meant to be thick but please feel free to add more water.

Can I use the products even if I dont need to lose weight?

Absolutely! The shakes and bars are the perfect, nutrient rich meal or snack. Have a quick shake before heading out at night, use it as a post-workout protein hit or simply enjoy as a way to get your daily dose of greens and superfoods. The bars are the perfect 'no-added sugar snack' and slip easily into your handbag or pocket.

How do I keep the weight off once I have lost it?

We suggest moving onto our 'Start The Day Right' plan. To get you off to a healthy start, simply have a healthy GoFigure shake for breakfast and have one of our delicious snack bars at 11am to set you up for the day. You can do this for as long as you like.

What is Slimbiome?

Slimbiome is included in all our range.  It is a scientifically formulated and patented natural weight management product that supports weight loss as part of a calorie controlled diet and exercise program. It was developed by professors from Liverpool, Reading and Sheffield universities.

One of the ingredients in Slimbiome is glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fibre. It takes up space in the stomach and promotes a feeling of fullness (satiety), reducing food intake at a subsequent meal. It also delays the emptying of the stomach, contributing to increased satiety or feeling of fullness. 

The prebiotic fibres in Slimbiome feed the friendly bacteria in the intestine, contributing to more efficient digestion, whilst the mineral chromium enhances the action of insulin, promoting the catabolism (breakdown) of carbohydrates (sugars) and fat in the body.

When should I drink my shake?

You should drink your shake for breakfast and lunch with an extra glass of water or herbal tea.  They should leave you feeling full and satiated and will give you all the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. If you are going out to a restaurant for lunch, you can have the shake for dinner instead.

When do I have a snack bar?

The idea is to have a bar at around 11am and 3pm – just about the time when you start to feel a bit hungry and might need an energy top-up.  Drink a glass of water or herbal tea with your snack bar.

How is GoFigure different from other meal replacement shakes on the market?

Our shakes are the only meal replacements with added Slimbiome and MCT oils (fats that burn fat).  Unlike most other shakes, they also have all the nutrients your body needs to keep healthy (packed with greens, vegetables, fruit, superfoods, flaxseed, spirulina, good oils, pre and probiotics).

How much weight should I expect to lose?

It is very difficult to predict how much weight each individual can expect to lose, as there are many different variables that can affect the outcome. These variables include your BMR, exercise, eating habits, how much weight you have to lose, and how well you stick to the programme. On average our customers lose around 1 – 2.8 lbs (0.5-1.3 kg) each week. A weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week is considered a safe and sustainable rate of weight loss.

How do I maintain my weight loss?

Once you have reached your weight loss goal, we suggest that you have one GoFigure healthy meal replacement shake a day, and one or two of our healthy snack bars.  It is very important that you continue your daily exercise routine and that your meals are a balance of healthy protein and/or wholemeal carbs (about 25% of your plate) with plenty of vegetables and fresh salad.

Will I put weight back on after following the GoFigure Diet plan?

If you go back to eating in a way that caused your original weight gain, then you are likely to put on some weight. However, we suggest that once you have reached your target weight you simply start the day right with a tasty and nutritious shake, that you continue your daily exercise routine and that your meals are a balance of healthy protein and/or wholemeal carbs (about 25% of your plate) with plenty of vegetables and fresh salad.

What foods should I stay away from in order to lose weight?

Here’s a guideline of what you should stay away from to keep a healthy lifestyle, now and in the future.  This is not an extensive list.  Just a guideline:

  • Fruit juices
  • Artificially sweetened drinks
  • Boxed breakfast cereals
  • Ready-made meals 
  • Processed foods
  • Alcohol, especially wine and beer
  • Crisps and snacks
  • Pastries, biscuits and cakes
  • French fries and potato chips
  • White bread
  • White pasta and rice
  • Pizza
  • High calorie coffee drinks
  • Ice cream

Can I replace all my meals with GoFigure to lose weight faster?

Losing weight fast is not considered healthy and it is not something we recommend.  We recommend combining two GoFigure shakes and two snack bars with a daily healthy balanced meal to ensure you are getting a good intake of additional fresh food nutrients every day to help you lose weight and stay healthy.

What other snacks am I allowed on the plan?

The best snacks are those that keep you satiated from breakfast through to lunch, and lunch through to dinner without wanting to snack on ‘bad’ foods.  An alternative to our GoFigure snack bars are:

  • Celery sticks
  • Mange tout
  • A green apple
  • An oat cake and a little hummous
  • A mandarin/nectarine
  • Boiled egg
  • Six almonds
  • Slice of chicken or ham

Vegetarians and GoFigure – the perfect mix

The first thing Max says is that ‘vegetarian’ doesn't mean low-calorie. Vegetarian cookies, cakes, pasta, white rice, butter and pizza usually contain large numbers of calories and could undermine your GoFigure results. The key is in the name – VEGetarian. Salads are excellent meal options, as long as you limit the amount of high-calorie dressings – including bread croutons, creamy dressing, cheese, dried fruit and nuts.

Skip the refined sugar and grain options that may fit the definition of vegetarian, but add excess calories and limited nutrients. Stay away from fried vegetarian foods, including French fries and tempura vegetables.

Poached eggs or egg whites with veggies, scrambled tofu with salsa or a large salad with chickpeas, vegetable soup with kidney beans or a black beans with brown rice are all high-fibre diners. The beans add fibre as well as protein, both of which help make you feel more satisfied and not deprived. Try a stir fry tempeh or tofu with minimal oil and serve with a mound of roasted vegetables, or steam the veggies and dash of lemon juice. A small serving of whole grains, such as quinoa or wild rice, or a starchy vegetable add to the meal. Watch portion sizes!

Remember that a small handful of nuts or two tablespoons of hummus fit into a GoFigure vegetarian weight loss plan, but if they turn into a big serving you are going to struggle to lose weight. Opt for a snack of our fabulous natural flapjacks with Slimbiome – hunger free dieting.

I am lactose intolerant. Can I use your meal shakes?

No, our shakes are not suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. The bars are fine as they do not contain lactose and provide a dose of Slimbiome.

I am a coeliac - are your products suitable for me?

Our products are gluten free although they are made in a factory which handles gluten. Please see our allergens list for more details.

Is the GoFigure plan suitable for those with Diabetes type 1, if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or want to lose more than 20% of your body weight?

We always advise those with medical conditions or those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have more than 20% weight to lose, to speak to their Doctor or Dietician before starting any weight loss diet. 

Can I use your shakes on the 5:2 plan?

Our shakes compliment the 5:2 plan perfectly. 

Can men use the GoFigure plan?

The GoFigure programme is suitable for both men and woman. However as men generally need more calories than women we recommend they increase the size of their evening meals or add one more of our snack bars to their daily plan. 

Can I drink coffee and/or tea whilst on the GoFigure plan?

Yes you can drink coffee and tea whilst on our programme.  Just don’t add sugar or sweetener.

Can I drink alcohol whilst on the GoFigure plan?

Yes you can drink some alcohol whilst on our plan. We suggest gin or vodka with slimline tonic and a slice of lemon or lime.  Don’t drink beer, wine and other fermented drinks as they have a very high sugar content.

Also remember to drink in moderation and only once in a while.   

Are the GoFigure shakes and bars compatible with my religion?

We cannot advise on the suitability of our products for various religions but we would ask that you review the ingredients of the products and make your own informed decision.

Can I chew gum?

Chewing gum can make you feel hungry as stomach juices are released. If you feel chewing gum will help you to sustain your diet then try not to chew gum for more than a few minutes at a time.

Can I take over the counter painkillers?

You can take aspirin or paracetamol as directed. If pain persists you must see your doctor.

Can I drink diet coke and similar products?

We recommend that you wean yourself off these drinks and focus on water or herbal teas.

Is it ok to sell GoFigure products on eBay or Amazon?

You are not allowed to re-sell our products to a third party.
